What's in your current meeting bag?
by nochoice inthanks again for the comments on the ipad in kh rules.
on a similar vein, i've been thinking of all the books i can leave behind once our kh blesses the ipad phenomenon.
in the meantime, this is what i have to lug in and why:.

Anyone remember Christan Longo? He was just a sociopath turned physcopath. Sadly, a small number of people are just "wired wrong" from birth. They have no conscience. The Scioipath Next Door is a good book if you're interested in phycology. Christan Longo has been called one. He killed his entire family. I was at a neighboring kh at the time. Regardless, my sympathy to the friends & family of this senselessly murdered woman.

For those of you who were die hard JW's, did you ever think...

No. But it's kinda liberating.

Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

I feel very lucky. When I was df'd my identical twin was cautioned not to talk to me. She told the elders that she and I were "one" once, shared a womb, have the same childhood memories, and are best friends and no man on earth would convince her to shun me. I guess some would say she loved me more than Jehovah. She actually became way more angry about my situation than I ever did. She's inactive now. For 10 years she worked for a large company comprised of mostly jws. She actually would antagonize them and mention me and things about me every chance she got so they would know our relationship was as good as ever. I did lose some friends. I don't count them. They don't matter compared to her.

Do the elders have "clear direction" that it's ok to use an ipad at meetings?
by nochoice ini read this post more than a year ago: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/212313/1/watchtower-publications-for-ipad.
since i saw it, i've been waiting for the first brother or sister to show up at the hall with an ipad to see what happens.
a little here and there at the conventions and assemblies.

I use my iPad at the meetings for the WT study. I go to a kh in a pretty poor area in the Midwest. No one has said anything, but that is likely because I'm df'd. I do try to be discreet when using my downloaded Kingdom Ministery I get from this site. lol

How Suicidal Thoughts can take over your Life.
by Lady Lee inhow suicidal thoughts can take over your life.. i lived most of my life thinking about suicide.
i have clear memories when i was 8 years old thinking about what it would be like to die.
i went to sleep every night of my young childhood saying the prayer:.

LadyLee, thank you for mentioning something many of us are not brave enough to talk about. I've been in so much pain this year. I just wanted my heart to stop. I was hospitalized in June for depression. Its still hour to hour some days, but it helps so much to know you're not alone, and to hear you say it gets better. I hope to be content or even happy again one day. I will be thinking a lot about you and I wish you very well.

Thank you all very much. To answer the question about what is difficult about dating "worldly" men, the answer is that I just never have. I guess that's mainly it. I haven't been 'out' very long and I guess I still have trust issues. My phschologist once told me that children that are raised as Witnesses are very ill prepared for the real world. She's treated tons of them, she said. I just gotta get my nerve up. Thanks!

If I may bore you with just a bit of background: I am in my mid-thirties, never was good a being a JW, divorced twice, disfellowshipped, and single. Great combination, right? But I have only dated other JW's in the past, and I find it difficult to date men with no JW background. Does anyone know of a place to meet others such as myself? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
